Little Foxes that Spoil the Vines:
Song of Solomon 2:15

Intro: In this section of scripture it is talking about the vineyards, and the need for watching out for the foxes. Not just the foxes but the little foxes that spoil the vine. For the vines have tender grapes on them. This is speaking of the fruit we have in our Christian lives. And how the little foxes can destroy the vine that yield fruit. They do this by gnawing and breaking the little branches and leaves, and the bark, by digging holes in the vineyards, and so spoiling the roots, by eating the grapes, and any other way to hinder the growth of the vine.

Let us look at some Little Foxes that spoil the vine.

1. Bitterness of Soul; Hebrews 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

A. bitterness starts out small like a root then becomes a tree
B. bitterness is like a small sore, if picked at enough will become a large wound

2. Bickering of the Saints; 1Peter 2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

A. bickering turns to arguing
B. arguing turns to separation

3. Boasting of Self; Proverbs 25:14 Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain.

A. boasting is like clouds and wind without rain there is no substance
B. boasting is a little fox that breeds pride

4. Bridling not the Speech; James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

A. this little fox has destroyed a lot of vines
B. don’t say what you think but think about what you are gong to say

5. Binding the Spirit; 1 Thessalonians 5:19 Quench not the Spirit.

A. each time you bind the spirit you yield yourself to sin
B. if you bind the spirit you will num to the things of God

6. Bargaining with Satan; Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.

A. the little bit of giving ground to the Devil
B. sometimes we bargain with Satan and don’t even realize we have

7. Barring the Savior; Revelation 3:20Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

A. when we bind the spirit, and bargain with Satan, we are barring the Savior.
B. there are some places in our lives where we will not open up to Jesus and that little fox will keep us from growing and yielding fruit

Conclusion: It’s not always the big things in our lives that hinder us, but these little things (foxes) add up to make big problems in our walk with Christ. Are there some little foxes you need to take care of in your life?

THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY GHOST:......

Joh 3:1  THERE was there a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews;
Joh 3:2  He came at night to Jesus and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher sent from God; for no man can do these miracles that you are doing, except God is with him.
Joh 3:3  Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, If a man is not born again,* he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:4  Nicodemus said to him, How can an old man be born again? can he enter again a second time into his motherÆs womb, and be born?
Joh 3:5  Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, If a man is not born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6  What is born of flesh is flesh; and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Joh 3:7  Do not be surprised because I have told you that you all must be born again.
Joh 3:8  The wind blows where it pleases, and you hear its sound; but you do not know whence it comes and whither it goes; such is every man who is born of the Spirit.


JESUS TELLS US OF THE BORN AGAIN EXPERIENCE......A MAN MUST BE BORN AGAIN....THIS IS A SPIRITUAL BIRTH....YOU ARE BORN INTO THE FAMILY OF GOD....YOU BECOME A CHILD OF GOD...THIS IS THE NEW BIRTH THAT GIVES YOU SONSHIP.......

WHEN ONE IS BORN AGAIN HE THEN BECOMES READY OR A CANDIDATE FOR THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST....


Joh 7:38  Whoever believes in me, just as the scriptures have said, the rivers of living water shall flow from within him.
Joh 7:39  He said this concerning the Spirit, which they who believe in him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

JESUS HERE SPEAKS A POWERFUL WORD........HE SAID THAT THOSE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM --OUT FROM WITHIN THEM WILL FLOW RIVERS OF LIVING WATER......NOW NOTICE THIS RIVER FLOWS FROM WITHIN THE PERSON......THIS RIVER IN THE NEXT VERSE IS SHOWN TO BE THE HOLY SPIRIT.......

IT IS THROUGH THE NEW BIRTH THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS TAKEN UP RESIDENCE INSIDE OF THE BELIEVER.....IT IS THE SAME HOLY SPIRIT THAT FLOWS FROM WITHIN THE BELIEVER

NOTICE ALSO OTHER THINGS JESUS SAID CONCERNING THE HOLY SPIRIT..

Joh 14:16  “And I shall ask the Father, and He shall give you another Helper, to stay with you forever –
Joh 14:17  the Spirit of the Truth, whom the world is unable to receive, because it does not see Him or know Him. But you know Him, for He stays with you and shall be in you

NOTICE AGAIN....JESUS TELLS US THAT THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT THE WORLD ....THOSE WHO HAVE NOT ACCEPTED JESUS AS LORD AND SAVIOR......CANNOT RECEIVE HIM......IN OTHER WORDS YOU HAVE TO BE BORN AGAIN.....NOT OF THE WORLD.....

JESUS AGAIN GIVES INSTRUCTIONS TO HIS FOLLOWERS:......


Luk 24:49  And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

NOW SEEING THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT JESUS GAVE ....CAN WE AGREE....THAT THE NEW BIRTH IS BY THE HOLY SPIRIT....AND THAT HE TAKES UP RESIDENCE IN US WHEN WE ARE BORN AGAIN.......AND BECAUSE HE IS IN US AND WE ARE PART OF THE FAMILY OF GOD.....THAT HE FLOWS OUT OF US AS RIVERS OF LIVING WATER.......

HE TELLS HIS FOLLOWERS WAIT IN THE CITY OF JERUSALEM UNTIL YOU ARE CLOTHED WITH POWER .....

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DISCIPLES WHEN THE CLOTHING FROM ON HIGH TOOK PLACE?....WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THE RIVER THAT WAS WITHIN THEM BEGAN TO FILL THEM AND FLOW OUR OF THEM?


Act 2:1  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Act 2:2  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
Act 2:3  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Act 2:4  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.


WHAT HAPPENED!

THEY WERE ALL FILLED THE RIVER BEGAN TO SPRING UP IN THEM FLOWING THROUGH THEM AND THEY BEGAN TO SPEAK IN OTHER TONGUES .....

NOW THE 120 WERE FILLED AND SPOKE IN LANGUAGES THEY DID NOT KNOW...........THESE LANGUAGES WERE DIALECTS OF THE EARTH......FOR MANY THAT HEARD THEM WERE AMAZED BECAUSE THE GALILEANS SPOKE IN THEIR NATIVE LANGUAGE FROM THE VARIOUS PARTS OF THE WORLD WERE THEY LIVED.....

IF WE CONTINUE THROUGH THE BOOK OF ACTS...CHAPTERS 8, 10 AND 19.........WE SEE THE IMPORTANCE THAT THE APOSTLES PLACED ON BEING BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY GHOST....THEY PLACED TOP PRIORITY ON THE NEW CONVERTS BEING BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY GHOST.......NOW WHAT WAS THE INITIAL SIGN THAT THE APOSTLES RECOGNIZED AS PROOF THAT THEY NEW CONVERTS HAD RECEIVED?


Act 10:44  While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them which heard the word.
Act 10:45  And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Act 10:46  For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify Elohim. Then answered Peter,

WHAT SIGN WAS THERE IT WAS THE SPEAKING IN TONGUES ....NOTICE IN THE ABOVE PASSAGES......THE JEWS WERE AMAZED BECAUSE THE HOLY GHOST WAS POURED OUT ON THE NEW GENTILE CONVERTS......FOR THEY HEARD THEM SPEAK IN TONGUES........THIS WAS THE EVIDENCE THAT THEY PEOPLE HAD RECEIVED......


NOW THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH DENOMINATION NOR ETHNICITY.....THIS IS BIBLE ORDER...........REMEMBER THE WORDS OF THE APOSTLE PAUL:


Act 19:1  And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
Act 19:2  He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Spirit since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Spirit.

HE ASKED THE DISCIPLES.....A VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION...HAVE YE RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST SINCE YE BELIEVED?............


ANY BELIEVER THAT HAS RECEIVED JESUS AS LORD AND SAVIOR IS A CANDIDATE FOR THE RIVER OF LIVING WATER TO FLOW THROUGH THEM FLOODING THEIR ENTIRE BEING WITH THE WATER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT........HAVE YE RECEIVED SINCE YOU BELIEVED.

Testimony.........

Hello Minister Bass, 


I couldn't get the letter to you in person so here goes.......About twenty years ago you prophesized to me and you said I would give birth to a son that would be anointed by God, not knowing that I was already pregnant about a month or two later I found out I was with child. 
This boy child was truly a gift and I held on to the words you spoke that night. During the pregnancy I read scriptures, anointed my stomach, and sang to him daily. Labor day of September 1992 my water broke and I was rushed to The Med......the enemy knew what I was about to birth. Once I made it to the hospital I was checked in and placed in a room where I sat for hours without anyone coming back to check on me.....during all of the waiting my amniotic fluid was almost depleted. Finally someone notice their mistake and began to get me set up for delivery. 
Long story short.... I gave birth to a male child who weighed 5ozs.4lbs. After being very exhausted I allowed him to stay over night in the newborn center, called for him the next morning and the nurse tells me oh ma'am we had to give him a blood transfusion because he was turning blue so he's in the intensive care unit for newborns........Okay no-one notified me of any of this. My son was in the hospital for twenty one days and all they could tell me was its nothing but a bacteria infection. They couldn't explain what was going own but I knew this child belonged to God. I was there at the hospital everyday prayed up and anointing him with oil. The hopital made a big mistake and tried to cover their tracks but I wasn't worried because I was holding on to the words that God had given you Minister Bass and what I believed in. Now Raymond is a thriving very intelligent young man who loves God and has the presence of the Lord all over him. Thank you so much for your prayers and continue to pray for us.
